Classroom Fundamentals
Students in my class must:
- Listen, follow directions promptly, and be productive in the classroom
- Raise hands before speaking, and neither interrupt the teacher nor their peers
- Respect their classmates and their peers
- Keep their hands, feet, and objects to themselves
Classroom Policies
The following class policies are non-negotiable. If you are a student of mine and have any concerns about your ability to follow these policies, please discuss these concerns with me. In my classroom, you must:
- Be on time. You must be in your seat before the tardy bell rings.
- Only have the required materials on your desk.
- Do not talk over others. Wait your turn to add to the class discussion or to ask a question.
- Do not use inappropriate language in class.
- The classroom must be clean before you leave. Remain in your seat until the bell rings instead of lining up by the door.
- Cell phones should be turned off and put away during class unless otherwise specified. If a cell phone is seen or being used during a test or quiz, then the cell phone will be taken up and a zero will be given for the test or quiz. This guideline applies to other electronic devices.
- If you need to visit the restroom, take the hall pass. You may not leave the classroom when I am conducting whole-class instruction. Only one student may go to the restroom at a time. If you need to leave the room for another reason (to see the nurse, counselor, etc.) you must ask permission.
